I think the current financial system still has a while to go. If you look at the actions of the broad population, and even look at the actions of the thought leaders, remember that confidence is born of the root word “con.” And thinking about the totality of the current situation is very unpleasant.
So people would rather focus on their immediate past experience which has been, despite the headwinds, fairly good. And as long as confidence holds together, I think they can hold the system together. The central planners have done an extremely good job of getting investors focused on liquidity rather than solvency. I don’t think this will end well, but I’m not sure it ends quickly.”
