Britons expect the squeeze on their incomes to continue, with a Bank of England survey showing that people predict a higher rate of inflation over the coming year than three months ago.
According to the Bank’s February inflation attitudes survey – conducted by GfK NOP – average public inflation expectations for the next year ticked up to 3.6pc last month, compared to 3.5pc in the November poll.
